Mohun Bagan vs Punjab FC : A must win game for Green and Maroon Brigade to keep their title hope alive

Mohun Bagan will face Punjab on Saturday at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at New Delhi. After a disappointing defeat at home against Chennaiyin FC, they have to win all remaining matches to clinch the League shield title. The big difference in the team was that their talisman Antonio Lopez Habaz was not at their helm during the match and his absence massively felt by the team during the second half when delaying the substitution in the humid condition suddenly cost us the game. Habas reportedly fallen sick and still not fit enough to travel with the team. Mohun Bagan will also miss Sahal Abdul Samad as he is still not recovered from his injury which he suffered during the national camp. But we hope the team have settle down after the shock defeat and they are well aware of their position of the table and the target to achieve. Mohun Bagan currently sitting on 3rd position of the table with 39 points from 19 matches behind Odisha and Mumbai. Odisha are in 2nd position with 39 points but with better goal difference and Mumbai currently sitting on top with 44 points from 20 matches. In their last match the defense look really vulnerable under pressure and very uncharacteristically conceded goal from the set pieces. Vishal Kaith was also looked very shaky and the way he conceded those three goals which was very unlike to his goal keeping calibre. Punjab is currently in 10th positing with 21 points from 20 matches and after their defeat against Odisha at Bhubaneswar they are also looked out of shape right now. The possibility of the top six finish will fading away from their grip. But they have a high talented Moroccan recruits named Madih Talal who scored 5 goals and with 8 assists. With this figure Talal contributed the highest number of assist in this season’s ISL. They also have a very good attacking duo with Luka Majcen and Wilmar Jordan Gil who scored 7 and 6 goals respectively. This attacking trio contributed total 29 goals and assists which is just behind the trio goal contribution of Mohun Bagan trio i.e. Petratos, Cummings and Sadiku who contributed total 31 goals and assists. Unfortunately the match will start in a empty stadium as an incident happened on JLN Stadium and fire broke out. So the Government yet to pass the fit certificate for the crowd and the application is still pending. The Punjab FC management decided to conduct their next two matches closed door and without any fans on the gallery. Many Mohun Bagan fans are planning to travel their and so many resided at Delhi but unfortunately they couldn’t attend the match because of the situation. Both the teams having their respective target and now will see who can deliver and achieve that in Delhi.
