After a dissapointing campaign in Bengaluru, Mohun Bagan will face the debutant Mohammedan SC on Saturday evening in a ISL clash ahead of the auspicious Durga Puja festival in Kolkata. This is also the last match for both the teams ahead of International break. Both the team currently having 4 points in 3 games but Mohammedan sitting ahead because of their superior goal difference. Mohun Bagan probably miss the service of Sahal and Manvir because of hamstring injury.
It is now visible that no matter what Molina will fielded the 4-4-2 formation but the problem is he didn’t select the players according to his formation. In the 4-4-2 formation you need CDM, CM and CAM where CAM sometimes acted as false 9 but if you play with 4 attackers with 1 winger that moment you leave gaps in your midfield. Hope Molina already learned his lesson and play accordingly.
Mohammedan on the other hands began the campaign with very cautious manner. They opted to play 4-2-3-1 but mostly they are playing as 4-5-1 with low block. They have conceded goal very late against North East mostly because of lack of concentration. Against FC Goa they also conceded very late. It is obvious that there was still some work is needed as per as fitness is concern. Although they registered their first win of ISL history against Chennaiyin from a defensive mistake and able to defend the lead for a period of 60 minutes. The approach of Mohanmedan would be the same against Mohun Bagan, defense in numbers and attack in counters.
The match will begin at 7:30 in a busy Saturday evening in Kolkata as people already in the festive mood. Whatever happenned till now is past and let’s hope Mohun Bagan players buckle up their shoes and turn the table around in Indian Super League.
